has been working to make northern Nevada
a place we can all be proud to call home
Jon Killoran is a forty-six-year Reno resident and one of five generations of his family to call northern Nevada home.
After studying journalism at the University of Nevada, Jon embarked on a twenty-two-year career in Reno’s television news industry. He earned several awards for his work as a sports broadcaster before being promoted to a prestigious career as News Director at KRNV News 4. Jon was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2004.
Jon has spent the past eighteen years promoting the Reno-Tahoe region and the state of Nevada as a premier sports tourism destination. As Chief Executive Officer of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, he has led the local organizing committees for a series of World Championship, Junior National, Olympic, and other elite sporting events that have brought millions of dollars in economic impact to the region and state. He also oversaw the organization’s efforts to pursue an Olympic Winter Games bid.
