03.20.26
Jon Killoran, Republican candidate for Washoe County Commission District 2, today officially filed his candidacy with Washoe County, advancing his campaign to bring proactive, accountable leadership to northern Nevada.
Killoran, a 46-year Reno resident and one of five generations of his family to call northern Nevada home, has built a career defined by service to the community. After a 22-year career in television news — including serving as News Director at KRNV News 4 and earning induction into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame — he has spent the past 18 years as CEO of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, bringing millions of dollars in economic impact to the region through world-class sporting events.
“Filing today is a proud moment, but it’s just the next step,” said Killoran. “Every day I’m out talking with voters across District 2, and what I hear is clear — people want a commissioner who will listen, show up, and fight for this community. That’s exactly what I intend to do.”
Killoran enters the June Republican primary with strong momentum, having raised over $45,000 and maintaining more than $43,000 cash on hand. He has earned broad support from across the district and continues to grow his coalition of volunteers, donors and endorsers.
